The Mom and Pop Quilt Shop Story
Laura-Lynn’s Alterations and Creations was started in Hillsburgh as a hobby and with support from the local community bloomed into much more. Laura-Lynn has always loved working with fabric and she is an avid quilter with more than 20 years of experience creating quilts.
The Mom and Pop Quilt Shop joined with Laura-Lynn’s Alterations and Creations in October of 2015. In 2015 the Mom and Pop Quilt Shop purchased its first longarm quilting system, a Statler by Gammill®.
Since the Long Arm arrived in the shop Laura-Lynn has been busy quilting and creating video content for our customers and for your enjoyment.
In 2021 the Mom and Pop Quilt Shop took on its largest adventure yet and relocated to Nova Scotia. This change has enabled the shop to grow into a large studio space and will provide a great place for some future plans and goals
Creating Happyness and Art while helping those in need
Our mission is to make the art we create have beauty, provide comfort, and bring joy to our customers. You will never leave the shop without receiving a smile.
As part of our mission, we create quilts for donation to those in need to provide comfort to children who are going through a traumatic event. These quilts are made through donations of used fabric, from clothing to bed sheets which are no longer needed.
We are a family business with everyone chipping in with their specific knowledge and skills.
